Well here we are... our home for the next three to four years... Cornelius Oregon!!! We moved here on the 22nd of August and we are loving it. We are renting a house and it is so marvelous to have a home with a yard and no one living above or below or right next to us! It's fantastic and Olivia has really enjoyed the backyard and all the space she has to play inside and out. We also have a school playground right down the street from us and Liv loves swinging there. It has been different being in such a small town but we aren't far from the coast or Portland. :) And we really love our ward here... it's so nice to be able to go somewhere and always feel welcome and the gospel is the same everywhere you go! Our first sunday here was so great, the ward was very happy to have us there and it was just such a comfort for us to feel that sweet spirit and have so many people welcoming us so warmly. Thank goodness for the church!! It helped calm our nervous, scared and homesick storm we were experiencing.
Jon's parents helped us move, and we sure are glad that they were here to help us. It was very overwhelming moving to a new place in a new town in the opposite direction from what we are used to... (we're so far from Provo and have really missed our friends and the familiarity there) but... they helped us a TON to clean things up in our house and get things to where we could make it a home. While they were here we took a trip to Tillamook to tour the cheese factory and of course get some famous Tillamook ice cream... YUM!!!! After Tillamook we drove to see the coast to a beach at Oceanside. It is such a beautiful and peaceful place and Olivia had a blast playing in the sand and chasing the waves.

Your new home looks lovely! We went to Oregon to visit our friends in May and I was in awe the whole time with how beautiful it was. Our friends moved there in January from BYU and they live in Tigard. Are you close to Tigard. I think you must be because when we went there we were trying to decide if we were going to go to the Tillamook Factory or to that exact beach you have pictures at. (It's the beach they filmed in Goonies, right?) Anyway, I'm excited for you guys! We miss you!
ReplyDeleteGood luck. It is hard moving away from everything familiar. But in many ways our family has gotten so much stronger because of it. Richard and I have gotten closer and we depend on each other more. I think you will have a great adventure!
