Our Summer! WARNING! THIS POST HAS A TON OF PICTURES!

We had a fantastic summer... while it was hard at times with Jon still in school all summer we still found time to do a lot of fun things together, and we actually found that we saw much more of daddy with him in school than when we was selling all summer. We had a great time exploring Oregon and actually staying put for the first time. Every summer since we have been married Jon has either sold security in California (2 summers) or sold pest control in Boise (2 summers) and each summer we have had to pick up our lives and move for 4 months, which was fun to explore new places in Cali, and be with family in Boise, but it was very nice being able to stay put in our home here in Oregon and be with friends and stay in our amazing ward.
We got to go to the Washington County Fair with our great friends Ben and Jodi, which Olivia loved and keeps asking if we can go back :) She was so excited that she got to go on a pony ride and proudly says that she got to ride Flicka! The girls also really enjoyed seeing all the farm animals. Emma thinks every animal is a dog and barks at everything (remind you of someone Pookie?) she is so much fun!

Emma is barking at the ducks!

and the bunnies

Liv thought she was pretty special that she got to pet the big cows!

and neither one of the girls wanted to leave this beautiful horse... I didn't want to leave either... I want it!

"look mom... it's bigger than papa's tractor!"

"papa's tractor doesn't have this seat!" ha!

We LOVE splash parks! Every chance we got we hit the splash parks! There are quite a few around here and the girls love playing with their friends and running thru the water!

Emma never learned... she kept putting her face right into the hole and got it in the face everytime!

this is the shocked look she would give me everytime too... like "mom why did you do that? "

oh... liv even got it in the face!

In August Jon's sister Nicole and her husband Scott came to visit with their sweet baby girl Lucy! We got to spend a week with them and was so much fun! We spent a day in Portland and rode the tram, and then spent a few days on the coast. We played at the beach everyday and ate some good food, and of course went to the aquarium.

Jon is such a big kid! He was enjoying all the kids activities right there with the girls.

Beach time!

 Lucy playing in the sand!

Olivia loved the water while Emma would just rather find rocks and play in the sand!

yum... sand!

Look how far out Liv went!

Scott and Jon braved the freezing water and went all the way in!

We made olivia into a mermaid! You can't really tell by the picture but she was super excited about it.

At the end of August Jon had 2 weeks between his summer semester and fall semester so of course we took that as a great opportunity to head home and visit family!! We had so much fun, Jon and I got to take a couple days off and head up to one of the most beautiful places McCall Idaho for our 5th Anniversary, thanks to my amazing sisters for watching our kids! We had so much fun just the 2 of us! Can't believe it's been 5 years, we have learned and grown together so so much and have fallen more and more in love every day! We had the best time celebrating together!

we stopped at kneaders on our way out to get a chocolate croissant! They are so delish, and remind Jon of a pastry that he ate in Spain on his mission.

Then we stopped to scout the Payette, which we kayaked on our way back down to Boise after staying the night in McCall "go left or your fired"

I love this man!

We took the ski lift up to the top of Brundage in McCall, it was a beautiful day with such great views!

We got up there... took a few pictures... walked around... then walked back to the lift to realize our watch was still on Oregon time and we had missed the lift down! :) oops... so, we got to have a nice hour hike down the mountain! It was actually really fun and we just had a great time telling stories and talking! Good thing we had good company! :)

We made it! A little bit sweatier and dirtier than when we were riding up but we made it and had fun together!
These are all the pictures I have of our trip to McCall but we had so much fun eating good food and watching a movie and walking by the gorgeous lake!
The next day we ate at The Pancake House oh man I love that place! :) Then we hit the river! We met on the river so we had a good time remembering our first trip together!

Then... while home in Boise Juju and I ALWAYS have to bake something together! We love to bake! We had brought a fresh Zuccinni from our garden so we were in search of a yummy recipe to make using it, we found a cookie recipe in Grandma's favorite recipe book they were SO good! Me Juju and Tara are such great cooks :)

Livi loved them!

YUM!

Did I mention we love splash parks? Tara found this new one in Meridian and so we thought we had better try it out! It is a good one! The girls loved playing with their awesome aunts!

We also had a blast going to the lake, Lucky Peak with my family... Olivia loved the boat and riding in the tube, Emma liked the boat but hated wearing the life jacket! She almost fell asleep every time the boat was going! :)

Also while we were home we got to go to Roaring Springs with Jon's family. April and her kids were still in town so we were so lucky to be able to spend some time with them! They are such sweet kids and Olivia and Emma love them! Unfortunately I was too busy chasing the kids to get any pictures but we had a blast and the memories will last forever!
Overall I would say this could be our best summer! We got to do so many great things but most of all we got to spend a lot of time with family and great friends!
